Persistence

If you ever have a doubt that making it to the finish line matters, just think about all the races you've ever seen people run.  Or the ones you've been in yourself.  The best part, is the end.  Knowing that you've won. Our faith in God is described as a race.  Something we have to keep on running until the day we die.  We know the lesson of the turtle and the hare talks about persistence, because the turtle stays the course, but the rabbit goes astray.  Imagine what would have happened if the rabbit had stayed the course. Turtles run pretty fast in person A lot of us consider ourselves to be rabbits.  Running fast in every direction, but it seems like the turtle finishes the race before we do.  It's time to flip that script.  Focus is everything.  We have to stop allowing ourselves to be distracted by every whim that comes along.  Anger can be good, but only if it does not cause us to drift from our purpose and our d...

Value

Hello.  Well, the question of who you are and what your worth is is a question that has been asked over the centuries.  Based on Jewish principles according to Rabbi Daniel Lapin in his book Thou Shall Prosper , mankind has 4 basic needs:  Wisdom, Power, Wealth, and the Esteem of Others.  He explains how, that to the extent that you are able to help meet those needs for others, you have value to mankind. For ye are bought with a price:  therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. - 1 Corinthians 6:20 Valuable hands...

"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee."-Isaiah 26:3 KJV The world is filled with tragedy.  Today we mourn the loss of 17 lives in the mass shooting at a high school in Florida .  How do we continue to have peace when there is so much loss going on? Photo from NY Times coverage of prayer service in Florida, Feb 15. Many will have to spend the rest of their lives without someone who has been so integral in their lives, their only child, their father, their brother, their sister, their best friend, their true love.  We can only hope in the faith that we have in God. When you have received Christ Jesus as your Lord and Savior, that is a personal decision that you make between you and God.  Therefore, no one can take that faith away from you.  The only person who can take that great gift of eternal life away from you, is you, if you and you alone decide to give it away.  But you don't have to...
